Rosy the Rosella
Gerald Green
A red-headed white-cheeked Eastern Rosella (Platycercus eximius), perched on a park bench beside the war memorial. I stopped to photograph him after visiting a friend at the nearby Memorial Hospital.

This rosella reminded me of one of my favourite books, "Rosy is my relative" by Gerald Durrell, about a delightful elephant who is left to a young man by his uncle.
